Thanks to a generous donation from a GRASG member, we have been able to establish the Grand Rapids Chapter of the American Sewing Guild Scholarship Award.
The first recipient is current member Tammie Pontsler who is completing her MFA in Fashion at Savannah College of Art and Design. Congratulations, Tammmie!
Subsequent scholarships will be awarded to students at Kendall College of Art and Design for students in the Fashion Studies Program.
Criteria for the Scholarship include:
As with our seed donor, Chapter members (or others) may find themselves with Required Minimum Distribution mandates for their IRAs. Others may simply want to support the concept behind the scholarship. A donation to GRASG’s scholarship fund presents an opportunity to sustain sewing as an art and skill into future generations.
In addition, if you prefer to contribute to the Chapter’s general fund in support of its programming and community service activities.
All donations to GRASG are tax deductible. If you need our tax identification number, please contact Sarabeth Carr at [email protected].
Please send any donations of $1,000.00 or more by check.
Checks of any size should be made out to: GRASG, with the memo stating which fund you are donating to and mailed to:
